New creativity

02 February 2017 / Inspirations, News

Is it too late to say Happy New Year dear friends?!  For many of us 2016 was a bit of a blur and a challenging year and as I look back at my last blog…in October last year…it has been a little while between drinks!  Haha!  However, with the New Year has come new energy, new ideas and for me a lovely new creative flow.  So, in the spirit of creativity, I say Hooray and thank you for a new slate to work from.

“As artists, we must learn to be self-nourishing….to consciously replenish our creative resources as we draw on them – to restock the trout pond, so to speak”

I celebrated the New Year in Far North Queensland and had an amazing time!  Mother nature is at her finest in these parts and everything was so vibrant (and so large!)…oh the colours of the flowers, birds, insects, majestic daintrees and beautiful butterflies!  I met some wonderful people and was in awe of the landscape and the tropical weather and have now come home totally rejuvenated and back to work.

Sitting in my studio still butterfly dreaming, I currently have five pieces on the go and am feeling very inspired!  Here is some of what I am working on :

I especially love painting the dream-catchers.  They lend themselves so well to the subtlety of watercolour.  Watch this space for more art !
